About CAB Legacy
The Cleveland Association of Broadcasters (CAB) Legacy section is dedicated to honoring individuals who have made tremendous contributions to broadcasting in the Cleveland area. By providing profiles and pictures we hope to preserve the legacies of those featured in this section, while at once providing examples of excellence for others to follow.
"The Ohio Broadcast Archive and Museum at the University of Akron is partnering with the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters to highlight notable radio and TV personalities and distinguished station management on the CAB website. The monthly profiles include rare photos and biographical material and are compiled by the project's archivist and curator Mike Olszewski, the veteran radio and TV reporter who has co-authored several books on media along with his award winning documentary work. The archive has access to thousands of photos and related material and plans to make as much of it available as possible to the public both online and at its permanent home.
Olszewski says, "The project has assembled a group of dedicated historians, academic personnel and media professionals to document the ongoing history of radio and TV across the state. The opportunity to showcase some of the current collection on the CAB website will not only spotlight influential people who helped make broadcast history but will publicize our efforts to preserve their stories and accomplishments for future research."
