Ted, the recipient of the 2015 President’s Award, began his career on-air in 1967 in Pittsburgh. In 1969 he hit the Cleveland airwaves at WKYC with the legendary John O’Day as his newsman. A few years later, Ted moved to the powerhouse WJW 850, where he worked with market giants Ed Fischer and Carl Reese. For several years Ted worked at what is now WGAR and in 1980, moved to WZZP 106.5, later WLTF, for 12 years. In addition to on-air, Ted has been the ‘voice’ of Dollar Bank, Pick-n-Pay (now Finast) and since 2009, the voice over announcer of WEWS. Ted was inducted into the Radio Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame and was named the Brecksville Citizen of the Year by the Brecksville Chamber of Commerce in 2003.
“Today is the greatest honor if them all. When I was doing voice overs for 19 and 43, I narrated the bios of the inductees of the CAB Hall of Fame. Never thought that someday I’d be honored too.” - Ted Lux
